Our modern mobile app for iOS and Android rely on Vendetta, a cross-platform client mod for Discord on Android and iOS.

Installing the app

The initial installation steps depend on your platform. Please visit Vendetta's GitHub page for up-to-date information on how to do that.

Converting the app to discordapp.gay

You will need to log in to normal Discord to change these settings unfortunately. We'll look into ways to make this process potentially easier in the future. You can use a throwaway or secondary Discord account if you'd like.

Once it's installed, go to Settings > General under Vendetta.

Then, enable Developer Settings. We need this to override Vendetta's originally JS bundle with our own.

Next, back out of General and open the new Developer panel under Vendetta.

Finally, you need to enable Load from custom url.

Set your URL to https://mobile.discordapp.gay

Finally, close and reopen your Vendetta app.

You may notice your old account is cached and stuck on Connecting.... This is caused by a bug on our backend that isn't properly telling the mobile app to invalidate your token. Please manually Sign out.

Congrats! You are now ready to log in with your discordapp.gay account.

Legacy iOS version

If you're interested in our legacy iOS app based on Enmity instead, you can find that here. This version is pre-patched so does not require any of the additional instructions above, but it's a build from 2022.
